Top Ten College Basketball Venues

I really enjoyed making the top 10 list for College Football venues so I have decided to make a basketball list......enjoy and give feedback.

1. Cameron Indoor Stadium- (Duke)I hate Duke, I hate Coach K, Duke grads players may not always translate well to the NBA......I can keep on going on how I and others loath the Blue Devils but the fact is this is without question the hardest place to play in College hoops.

2. Allen Fieldhouse- (Kansas) tradition check, current success check, great nba stars check, and one of the loudest and most recognizable arenas in the nation when the lights shine threw the windows during a afternoon game its a beautiful thing.

3. Rupp Arena-
(Kentucky) History is only rivaled by UCLA and Rupp and its 23,000 fans make for one of the most intimidating places in the nation to place......all the banners might have a thing to do with it....could also be the crazy redneck fans.

4. Hinkle Fieldhouse- (Butler) They may not always be able to compete with the big boys but lately they have held their own and in terms history and charm Hinkle is hard to beat.....it's often said that they put windows in at one end of the arena so god could watch the games too......and Hoosiers was shot here I mean come on, not to mention its one of the oldest stadiums still in use.

5. Williams Arena- (Minnesota) Not always a top team but when they are this place is rockin.....and its history is unquestionable add to all that the uniqueness of the raised floor and you have a top 5 arena.

6. Pauly Pavilion-(UCLA) History is unmatched.....if only they didn't have the spoiled LA fans.

7. O'Connell Center-
(Florida) Recent success is unquestioned and so is the noise just not quite on the level of the rest of this field.

8.Oklahoma St.-
Absolutely crazy atmosphere I don't think their fans care whether they are good or not which is the way it should be.

9. Gonzaga- Small school, small arena, amazingly successful, amazing fans.....I love watching this place go nuts when they upset the big dogs.

10. Mac Court-(Oregon) I absolutely love the way this place is built and thats why I am so happy they are using its blue print for the new arena that is currently under construction....but Mac Courts charm and decibel is up there with all the greats.

Honorable Mention- Vandy, Rutgers, St. Josephs, New Mexico, Dean Dome, Wisconsin, Penn

Rain Maker Of The Year

Yes boys and girls its getting down to the end of the year and so it is time to announce the 1st ever Rain Maker of the Year.....there have been some strong candidates my top 5 are as follows in no order I will announce the winner after.......

Lebron James- Argument For- Dude simply balls out of his mind every night has amazing stats and improved his defense 10 fold in the past couple seasons

Argument Against- Didn't take his team as far as they should have, they had the best record in the NBA and home court throughout the playoffs.....furthermore they had Orlando after they had just gotten down with a brutal series with Boston.....yet they could only manage to win 2 games and 1 was only miracle shot......by you guessed it Lebron. He took a lesser team to the finals a couple yrs back so this past season was a let down without a doubt.

Usain Bolt- Argument For- World Records in the 100m, and 200m. He is a freak athlete and also seems to be having fun with it all.

Argument Against-Does not really have one he stepped up every time he had to only problem is with track field he isn't in the lime light nearly enough.

Peyton Manning-Argument For- 2008 NFL MvP his third time......led the Colts to another 12+win season, oh and this yr he is a front runner for the MvP and currently has the Colts 12-0.....even when he has a bad game he still is a top 3 qb in the league.

Argument Against-Didn't win the Super Bowl last yr and didn't step his commercial game up......he has so much potential in the commercial world (cut that meat.....cut that meat)

Lance Armstrong-Argument For- Dude had cancer then dominated like never before took a few yrs off and oh yeah still almost wins one the hardest races in the entire world of sports.

Argument Against-Its cycling

Rasheed Wallace-Argument For-In order to understand why he is in my top 5 you will need to go back and read the requirments for winning a Rain Maker award....it is not simply about being the best or most dominant at a sport or in a realm of entertainment.......Sheed is a Rain Maker in every sense of the meaning however he is a great team player and is still capable of winning games for his team at his advanced age......but beyond that dude is fucking hilarious (Ball DONT LIE) beyond his humor I just love how honest he is.....Portland fans never knew what they had while he was in town they wanted a super star to carry their team and they were like obsessed girl friend no wonder he was smoking weed like cheech and chong while he was here (little tid bit he has had no off the court problems since he left town.....and has been a model teammate hmmmm) If you would have allowed him to just be him and build a team around him instead of expecting him to carry you to the promise land who knows how many titles you would already have.

Argument Against- Numbers aren't there and his team did struggle last yr but with Boston this yr things are looking great.

Winner- Lebron James- was there ever a doubt dude is just too dominant and he looks like he just keeps getting better.

NBA Power Rankings

Well I didnt get around to doing a pre season power rankings or award predictions but now that the season is under way and its becoming clear what to expect from teams and players I think there is no better time then now.

lets all hope Big Scal and the Celts can make a return to glory

1. LA Lakers- As much as it pains me they are one of the deepest and most talented teams and if they remain healthy will be there at the very end.

2. Atlanta Hawks- Hot Lanta indeed they are coming out of the gate on fire with two wins against Portland and a win at Boston.

3. Orlando Magic-Despite Dwight not playing all that great and Rashard Lewis being supspened to start the yr they still have one of the best records in the league.

4. Boston Celtics- A lot of changes and question marks coming into the season still look poised for a good run and as long as they continue to play tough defense will be a force come playoff time.

5. Phoenix Suns- Im not sure if they will last all yr but right now they are a top team.

6. Portland Trail Blazers- Their depth is being put to the test with injuries to Batum and Troutlaw, but they are getting help from Oden finally and as Andre Miller continues to become comfortable with his teammates they will remain a contender.

7. Denver Nuggets- Explosive offensively without question.....if Melo continues at his MVP level will push for the Western Crown.

8. Dallas Mavericks- I would have put them higher, I think they are very talented and if Josh Howard can return to his high level at all this season they can contend for the second best team in the West along with Portland and Denver, but that loss to Golden State with only 6 players was just plain terrible.

9. Cleveland Cavs- Lebron enough said.....ps the Shaq move has and will make them worse threw out the season.

10. San Antonio Spurs- Record is not that great but they have a ton of new faces and injuries have been a huge problem I look for them to round into form shortly after all star break.

11. OKC Thunder- I really like ok ok I LOVE their roster Russell Westbrooke, Kevin Durant, and James Harden might be my 3 favorite young players after Rajon Rondo.

12. Miami Heat- I dont like their roster at all beyond D Wade but they are gettin the job done.

13. Utah Jazz- I have to believe that Deron Williams, AK 47, Boozer, Okur, Milsap, Ronnie Brewer, and the rest of their solid role players is enough to compete night in and night out.

14. Milwaukie Bucks- As much as a suprise as their record is it cannnot be ignored. And Brandon Jennings is playin like an all star.

15. Houston Rockets- Gotta love the effort that this depleted roster is putting out every night.

16. Chicago Bulls- Injuries have played a small part in their slow start, as has the inconsistent play by Derrick Rose....I look for them to turn things around and be the 4th or 5th seed in the East.

17. Toronto Raptors- Why is it that Jose Colderon, Chris Bosh, and Hedu cant at least be .500 this far into the season.

18. New Orleans-I dont like them to make the playoffs but I do like how they have at least managed to battle every night.

19. Philadelphia Sixers- One of my biggest disapointments I like their young talent with Louis Williams, Iggy, and Thaddeus Young, but after awhile that promise becomes a bust if it doesnt translate.

20. Sacremento Kings- Young and inexperienced but damn they are playing tough and Tyerek Evans might be Brandon Jennings only competition for rookie of the year.

21. Indiana Pacers- I like Rush, Granger, and Hibbert but the rest of the roster is either slow or injury prone and in the case of Murphy and Dunleavy BOTH.

22. Detriot Pistons- Alot of injuries thus far but still in the mix so if they get healthy and can all fit together they might become a sacrificial lamb for a team come playoff time.

23. Golden State- Same as Philly a lot of young talent maybe even younger so I gotta give them a little break especially with all of their injuries.

24. LA Clippers- Loaded!!! I just dont get out they cant win more games.....the loss of Blake Griffin hurts clearly but Baron Davis, Chris Kaman, and the rest of the roster should be enough to win more then 5 of 14 despite Eric Gordon and Blake being out.

25. Charlotte Bobcats- I really like the Stephen Jackson move but it doens't make up for the Tyson Chandler move over the summer I think they are destain to be stuck as a below average team for a long time.

26. Memphis Grizzlies- Great move getting rid of Iverson.....let this young talented group grow and hopefully threw all the trials and losses they will grow together.

27. Washington Wizards- I didnt buy all the hype coming into the season and with inuries allready to Butler, Jamison and Miller I dont see this team making the playoffs.....Gilbert is just not the answer I think they should give Nick Young and Foye more minutes.

These next three teams are just terrible....

28. New York Knicks- Why in gods name they even thought about bring in AI I have no idea they already sell out every game so thats no arguement I guess they just like being a joke.

29. Minnesota- Johnny Flynn has proven to be a good draft but they could have used one of their other first round picks to actually get a player that could help this yr or next even......Kevin Love coming back will help but not enough.

30. New Jersey-Injuries aside....not winning a game is just plain unacceptable.

Pre/Early Season Awards:

MVP-Lebron James- Guy is unstoppable that is all I need to say but Melo and Kobe will give him a run for his money.

In the Running-Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash

Rookie of the Year- Brandon Jennings-Going into the season I would have said Blake Griffin but his injury and Jennings amazing play has made this almost a one man race already.

In the Running-Tyreke Evans, Johnny Flynn

Defensive MVP-Josh Smith- His rebounding is up, his on ball defense is improved and he is blocking even more shots then ever.

In the Running- Dwight Howard, Kevin Garnett

6th Man-Jason Terry- I hate to put him in the mix because he plays more minutes then the guy who starts above him but he is playing at very high level.

In the Running- Manu Ginobli (if he can come back healthy), Jamal Crawford

Most Improved-Aaron Brooks- It really started last yr in the playoffs but he is playing extremely well on a team that is a early season suprise.

In the Running-Roy Hibbert, Greg Oden
My Pick for Biggest Suprise- Im not gonna brag on and say that I would have picked Washington to struggle, so I'll make pick for the future and say that once Blake Griffin comes back that the Clippers will fight for and ultimately make the playoffs.

In the Running-Melo wins the MVP, Cleveland gets bounced in the 1st Round

Top 10 College Football Venues

Its been a minute but now I am back.......sorry for the long break but been a busy guy anyways this is a list I have been wanting to do for quite sometime. Thats right its the top 10 college football staduims......what I took into account is capacity, quality of the facility, home field advantage and personal bias/preference.

1. The Swamp- Not only has Florida been one of the toughest places to win lately it holds over 90 thousand...........the design of the stadium make it one of the loudest and hardest places to play due to the sunken level of the stadium and extreme heat that is common.

2. Tiger Stadium- Another SEC school that has been one of the best teams in the nation over the past decade being in Baton Rouge and its history of rowdiness doenst hurt their cause.......either does more then 90 thousand fans.....that cant boast that they are the only stadium to ever register on the Richter scale.

3. Michigan Stadium aka The Big House- Although they have been down the past couple of yrs they still bring in the largest crowds ever to watch college football and after recent upgrades it is still one of the best places to watch a college football game with a record of over 112 thousand in a victory over their hated rival Ohio St. in 2003.

4. Autzen- Not the biggest and the Ducks may not live up to the hype and money that is thrown upon the program but one thing is true it may be the loudest and stadium in the country which is saying alot because it is about half the size of some of the larger stadiums.

5. Lane Stadium- One of my personal favorite stadiums their enterance to enter sandman gives me qoose bumps......and just the way they play is fun to watch.....enjoy the video

6. Penn State- Beaver Stadium- Hard to beat when they do the White Out
7. Ohio State- Horseshoe- I guess there are a lot of stupid people out there to fill this thing
8. Tennessee- Neyland Stadium- On going battle with Michigan to see who can set the attendance record
9. Notre Dame- Hard to beat the history and with touchdown Jesus in the backdrop its a top 10 for sure.
10. USC- with their history and swagger its no doubt they are a top 10.

HM. Boise State, Nebraska, Georgia, UCLA

College Fooball Awards......

After a few days of intense thought and research I have decided on my pre-season award winners for college football......

Heisman-Colt McCoy-Has all of his big weapons back and his ability to run th ball gives him slight edge over Bradford, and his ability to throw the ball gives him a huge edge over Tim Tebow (see what I did there I bashed Tim Tebow....cus you know he wears Thong Underwear)

Runners Up- Bradford, Tebow, Jahvid Best

Defensive POY- Brandon Spikes- It was hard for me to go against Taylor Mays here but Spikes is playing on a loaded team that will be one of the best defensive teams in a long time. Add that to the fact that he is an absolute beast.

Runners Up- Mays, Eric Berry, Ndamukong Suh (Portland Boy doing big things at Nebraska)

Best WR-Julio Jones (Bama)- Big Strong Fast and only a Sophmore lets see if they get him the ball more this yr cus a guy of his talent should have at least 10 tds a yr not 4 like last yr....

Runners Up- Dez Bryant, Jermaine Gresham

Best RB- Jahvid Best- Without question he is the best in the land he avg 8 yrds per carry last yr and he wasnt even completely healthy.....I see him pushing towards 2000yrds this season.

Runners Up- CJ Spiller, Jonathan Dwyer

Suprise Team- Northwestern- You're probably asking your self what in the hell......or dismissing this as a homer Big Ten fan pick......well regardless I think that they will have a very solid season and not just behind a usually effective passing attack.....their defense played very well last yr and with a ton of guys returning I look for them to be #3 in the Big Ten and finish in the top 25.

Biggest Disapointment- It came down to two teams for me on this one Ole Miss is ranked extremely high after a great finish and upset of Florida last yr I dont think they will have a bad yr but closer to a 25th ranking then a top 10......and I dont know why but Notre Dame seems to be getting love and I simply dont understand it they went 6-6 last season and with wins against Michigan (who as much as it hurts to say were terrible last yr), Stanford (not very good), San Diego St, Washington (one of the worst teams in the nation), and Navy. Their only good wins were against Purdue and Hawaii both of which werent even that great.

Absolute freak......too bad all his boys went pro

NCAA Football-Preseason Rankings

So here it is boys and girls The Rain Makers 1st Ever College Football......its like the BCS only better so give it a read and lemme know what you think.....and yes I am extremely upset that I dont get to put Michigan in here...Lets GO R-Rod get it done!!!

Awww The Glory Days

1. Florida- I hate Tim Tebow but he gets it done and that defense is scary fast and good......the loss of the top 2 WRs will hurt but at programs like Florida they simply reload.

2. Oklahoma- Sam Bradford and Demarco Murray will carry the offense and the defense will be much improved from last yr.

3. Texas- Most of the offense comes back to a team that lost one game in the final seconds.....Red River Shootout is going to be very good.

4. Alabama- Defense is gonna be very good.....and the running game even better then last yr.

5. USC- Losses on both side of the ball but that happens every yr at USC and every yr they are in the championship picture.

6. Va-Tech- Beamer Ball.......defense and special teams gotta love it and with a legit QB things look good in Blacksburg.

7. Oklahoma St. - Very explosive offense......and the coach is a MAN!!!

8. Ole Miss- Heisman quality QB leads a veteran offense if they can survive they SEC could be in the hunt.

9. LSU- Much of the same from Les Miles explosive defense and ball control offense but this yr their QB should actually be able to make plays.

10. Oregon- Lost a ton on defense in Nick Reed, Byrd, Chung and on offense with Johnson and Unger but every level of both sides has great talent returning I think they could give USC a run for the Pac 10.

11. Ohio State- As much as it pains me to say they will once again be at the top of the Big Ten.....and Pryor he drive me to near tears as I watch and wish he were wearing Maize and Blue.

12. Penn State- The loss of their top 3 WRs will hurt but Clark at QB can flat out play and their running game will control the ball.

13. Cal- Another solid year for them but I dont see them competing for a National Title....but Jevon Best is a baller.

14. Boise State- A legit program that is now a prerenial top 15 team.

15. TCU- Some tough non-confrence games but they are a bonafide really good team.

16. Georgia-losing Moreno and Stafford hurts...but they have the talent to compete
17. Georgia Tech
18. Utah
19. Oregon State
20. Florida State
21. North Carolina
22. BYU
23. Pitt
24. Kansas
25. Rutgers

Be on the look out for Award Winngers coming very soon.....Ill be prediciting the Heisman, D-POY, Surprise Team, Under Acheiving Team, Best WR, and Best RB.

Rain Maker of the Month

Well to me it was kind of a slow month in terms of sports.....no college basketball, nba playoffs slowed to a crawl, and baseball is still too early to matter, its sad when hockey is probably the most exciting thing going........lets face it the conference finals in the NBA were a major let down. So I decided to go the other way with this months Rain Maker of the Month and go to the entertainment world and I picked Zach Galifinakis (the guy with the beard in The Hangover) in my opinion he is one of the funniest guys in the world and his performance in the Hangover will hopefully finally get him the recognition he deserves......he was hilarious in Outcold (snowboardin/drinking movie that is one of my favorites) beyond his great performances in those two roles and occational bit parts in other less then stellar movies he is well known for his standup performances and youtube clips if you havent checked him out then you are missing out cus "Fat Jesus" is the next big thing in comedy!!

The Only Mock Draft That Matters.

So basically are hundreds if not thousands of self proclaimed experts out there giving you their opinion of what team should draft what player in this yrs NBA draft well my friends mine is the only one that matters cus frankly I know my shit.....hahaha and those fools get paid a lot to try and sound like they really know what they are talking about when in fact they dont and are just guessing just like everyone else.....for example Mel Kiber and others like him rarely get more then half of their picks right in the NFL draft.....well you know what a blind squirrell bust a nut every once and awhile....so withouth further a do here is my extremely educated opinion of who will go where........

Lets hope the Clips dont blow it this time....

#1 LA Clippers-Blake Griffin PF-Oklahoma- If the Clippers screw this one up then they are in fact the worst franchise in all of sports......If they do what everyone thinks they should (me included) and draft Griffin they will be adding a monster athlete into their front court to go along with an above average center in Chris Kaman and a blossoming scoring guard in Eric Gordon and freak athlete on the wing in Al Thorton.....now if only they could move Z-Bo out of town.

#2 Memphis- Ricky Rubio PG Spain- Now I know his agent has came out and said that he does not want to play in Memphis which really does not make too much sense to me since Marc Gasol his teammate from Spain is already on the team and Memphis has a very talented young team
with Mike Conley, Rudy Gay, Oj Mayo, Gasol, and even Darrell Arthur and Hakim Warrick have shown some flashes of being solid NBA players.....I picture a draft and trade move here ala Portland and Minnesota a few yrs back or Memphis and Minnesota last yr.

#3 Oklahoma City- Hasheem Thabeet C UConn- This is as much as a lock as the #1 pick he will fit perfectly which all of the sudden looks like a team that could be on the verge of competing for a playoff spot in the next couple yrs.....they have it all a dynamic young PG in Russel Westbrook, a killer scorer in Durant, solid defenders/role players in Jeff Green and Nick Collinson. All they need is a big inside to block shots and rebound and that is what Thabeet does best if he can contribute 8 pts, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in his first yr he will meet expectations and be a perfect fit.

#4 Sacremento- Tyreke Evans G Memphis- This is where the draft is gonna get fun because its alot more wide open after the top 3.....and god can I just say that I feel bad for Sacremento they could have had a franchise changing big in Blake Griffin instead they lose the lottery and get the #4 pick....with that being said they will have a chance to pick up some very good players and as much as I like James Harden I think they go after Evans an explosive player who can play both the PG and SG much the same as Russel Westbrook from last yr now I dont think he is quite as athletic or as good a defender as Westbrook I do think that he is a better scorer and has a better handle.....and lets be honest he if he does anything he will be a ten fold improvement over Beno Udrih.

#5 Washington- Jordan Hill C Arizona- Now I am not sold on Hill to say the least.....let me just say that before saying that he does make some sense going to the Wizards he is a high motor big man that can make plays on defense and in transition....for his size he moves extremely well but something is missing oh yeah basketball IQ and any semblence of post moves or mid range shot....Stromile Swift anyone??? and I dont think he is near the athlete Swift was coming out of LSU.....I could be wrong and he could be the next David Lee or I could be right and he could be the next insert big man bust here...

#6 Minnesota- James Harden SG Arizona St- My favorite player in the draft not only because I love his game which is cold blooded and soooo smooth but my god have you seen that beard thats a thing of beauty....I am gonna go out on a limb and say it right now he will be the steal of the draft much the same way Brandon Roy was I see there games being very similar in that coming out of college you ask what is his strength ???? and is he athletic or big enough to go against the elite wing players in the league.....well Roy proved that knowing how to play the game trumps freak athleticism and yeh he will still bang on your head from time to time...here's me saying Harden will fit nicely with Randy Foy, K-Love, and hopefully healthy Al Jefferson and Corey Brewer.

#7 Golden State- Earl Clark F Louisville- To me this is easy a do it all player with great tools and athleticism....yep sounds about right for a Don Nelson led team.....hopefully Clark can put it all together cus he has the skills.

#8 New York- Stephen Curry G Davidson- Will be a nice fit along side the offense liability that is Chris Duhonand can hopefully can some of his minutes as well the Ice Water that runs threw his veins will not be tested by the pressure of playing in NY.

#9 Toronto- Chase Budinger G/F Arizona- I fought between him and Gerald Henderson but ulitmately I went with Chase because of his overall skill set.....and given the the fact that Toronto doesnt play D anyway his lack there of will not be that much of a problem.

#10 Milwaukie- Brandon Jennings PG Italy- It has been a wild ride for Jennings but I think he will find a good home with the Bucks who have solid veterans to help his transition to the league and really arent that far away from being in the playoff race in the East.....with Redd, Richard Jefferson, Charlie V, Bogut and Rammon Sessions this team could get into the mix. Don't look for him to start right away due to the way Sessions finished the season but if he can learn from him and Ridnour he could very good with his quickness think Aaron Brooks.

#11 New Jersey- Gerald Henderson SG Duke- Will add some defense to a team that again doesnt look too far away with Devin Harris and Brook Lopez as its two young pillars. then again he is from Duke so he could be a total bust.

#12 Charlotte- James Johnson SF Wake Forest- Ahhh the Bobcats a team that I always think is gonna make that next step they seem to have all the things needed to be a good team.....but something is just missing maybe its experience maybe its a go to scorer.....they addressed the expierence issue with Raja Bell and Boris Diaw so hopefully James Johnson's smooth game and multi scoring options can help them push into the playoffs because their roster is one of my favorites in the league....damn I wish either the Blazers or Celtics had Gerald Wallace.
#13 Indiana- Eric Maynor PG VCU- TJ Ford just cant catch a break and although I like his game his lack of jumper continues to plague him.....and I think the Pacers take a chance on Maynor as the PG of the future with Jarrett Jack as the steady back up. Maynor is a smart player who has all the skills to be a good PG in the league he is not the quickest but makes up for that with good size and high basketball IQ.
#14 Phoenix- Patrick Mills PG St. Marys- Is this the deepest PG class in forever or what it was tough for me to take Mills over Johnny Flynn but Mills has something about him that screams NBA he is not that big but neither is Steve Nash and hey they both played in the WCC so they have that in common hopefully Nash can teach him a thing or two......clearly it wont be defense though.
#15 Detriot- DeMar DeRozan SG USC- I am not giving up on Stuckey yet cus I have seen him go off at every level and think that he has a solid NBA career ahead of him I just dont think that he is the answer at SG or PG for Detriot and will be better suited coming off the bench as a change of pace guy.....and with DeRozan Detriot gets a dynmaic athlete to build around along with Prince who should be kept around to bridge the gap.
#16 Chicago- Bj Mullens C Ohio St.- Is it just me or did Chicago look very very scary down the stretch this season and into the playoffs getting Luol Deng back will help a ton.....as will adding a inside scoring option and Mullens despite being extremely underwellming in college has all the skills to do just that.

#17 Philly- Ty Lawson PG North Carolina- No I did not forget about Johnny Flynn I just think that Lawsons blinding speed will fit perfectly with the high tempo 76ers can you imagine him running with Iggy on one side and Thad Young on the other thats scary....but damn is this a deep PG class.

#18 Minnesota- Wayne Ellington SG North Carolina- I dont think Mike Miller will be around by the time the season is over a contending team will move on him and that will open a glaring need for shooting and thats what Ellington does best.

#19 Atlanta- Johnny Flynn PG Syracuse- Flynn finally comes off the board with Bibby being a free agent and I dont see him wanting to stay in Atlanta going young seems to be the right move to go along with Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, and Al Harford.
#20 Utah- Jeff Teague PG Wake Forest- Another PG.......Utah is a very close team that just needs a little athleticism and scoring punch to push them over the edge that and if they can stay healthy they can play with anyone in the NBA. Teague is a freak athlete that can handle the ball, attack the rim and shoot relatively well just needs to commit to defense and play to his ability all the time.

#21 New Orleans- Dejaun Blair PF Pitt- The Hornets seemed to be the sexy pick for the finals this yr but something didnt quite work out and now this yr there seem to be more questions then answers....well adding Blair will address one of those which is inside toughness and scoring....with David West standing out at 15 ft shooting jumpers and Tyson Chandler having only slighly more offensive skills then the team trainer. Blairs muscle and touch with either hand inside will a welcome addition.

#22 Dallas- Jrue Holiday PG UCLA- No where near the athlete Westbrook was last yr leaving UCLA but he might have more skills and with Kidd nearing the end its time to address the need for a PG of the future and dont talk to me about Jose Baria cus he is not nearly the answer.

#23 Sacremento- Sam Young SF Pitt- I am not a huge fan of Sam Young I think he was a product of being a extremely deep team while in college, but one thing that he can do is hit the open jumper and he will do all the little things to help a team win which is exactly what the Kings need as they continue to grow as a young team with Kevin Martin, Spencer Hawes, and Jason Thompson.

#24 Portland- Jeff Adrien PF UConn- A team that has been in the lottery the past few seasons is all of the sudden very very close to being mentioned with the legit contenders......their front office will be on edge hoping that either Blair or one of the upper level PG's fall to them but they dont the Blazers will go after the next available inside muscle guy and in my opinion that is Adrien he is solid mass of muscle who can defende and rebound inside and finish around the rim.....sure there is more talented players still on the board (Pendegraph, Heytvelt, Dozier) but they dont need a skill player they need a guy to do the little things in the mold of Paul Misap and Carl Landry.

#25 Oklahoma City- Taj Gibson PF USC- Never lived up to what his skill and athleticism would suggest he should have done in college but he has all the tools to be a solid NBA player and could be a very solid bench player for what looks like an up and coming team.

#26 Chicago- Josh Heytvelt PF Gonzaga- The Bulls seem to be two deep at every position so I look for them to take a chance on Heytvelt who could be a very good player with his size, skill, and athleticism if he can manage to put it all together.

#27 Memphis- Dajuan Summers SF Georgetown- I like to stay away from guys who seem to never have more then a couple good games a season....but he has an NBA body and has a high basketball IQ which would a solid assest off the bench for Memphis which is loaded with athletes and potential but in need of role players.

#28 Minnesota- AJ Price PG UConn- Its official Sebastian Telfair is a bust even as a backup PG due to the fact he cannot play defense and his jumper is suspect......so with the large # of PGs in this draft and Minnesota having a need for a backup AJ Price's toughness and big shot making ability will be a welcome fit.

#29 LA Lakers- Darren Collison PG UCLA- Fisher is Old Farmar is inconsitent as anyone I can remember so the hometown kid will be allowed to develop behind those two and if he doesnt pan out it wont really matter but if he does it would be a great pick.

#30 Cleveland- Dionte Christmas SG Temple- A high risk high reward guy who has been a proven scorer in college his whole career, and a scoring weapon is exactly what Cleveland needs but the question remains will he be Adam Morrison or will he be Kevin Martin?

Late-April Rain Maker of The Month!

So I know I am a couple weeks behind schedule but I have been busy and to be honest know one has really blown me away lately........but I did manage to come up with a Rain Maker of the Month and the winner is.....................Ty Lawson I know some of you may be saying what???? Well yes the Final Four was in April and he had an amazing tournament and solidified himself as the best PG in college this yr when he is healthy, what sealed it for me was his last two games when he up 22 pts, 8 assissts, 7 boards and 4 steals in the semi final and then 21 pts, 6 assists, 4 boards and 8 steals in a absolute thrashing of Michigan State....how he didnt win finals MVP is beyond me.....no worries though because he gets the honor of being Aprils Rain Maker of the Month!!!

Kid made himself a lot of money this last month$$$$

5 Types of People You Will See At Your Local Gym.....

1-The Old School Guy-Everyone has seen him he walks aroudn in his cut off sweat shirt with enlarged neck hole to show off his main of back hair.....he is also wearing either spandex (gotta have support) or jeans (gotta be ready to get back to work once the workout is done), and footwear will be either calf high boots or old school high tops that go up to mid shin (cant be rolling an ankle) he might also throw on some knee braces/elbow braces.....and you can bet your bottom dollar if chalk is alllowed then it will be flying. Beyond his clearly superior workout attire Old School Guy has all the best exercise from the full body arm curl, to the 1 in. bench press, and for the legs he drops a good 3 inches on his squat and leg press dont get me started. Dont think he wont help you with your form because he has been around and he wants everyone to know about it he will chat your ear off..... god forbid you keep that heart rate up because its all about the max sets. He will part you with the words of advice such as "NO Pain NO Gain" or "Bend your back not your knees"

2-Steriod Guy aka Meat Head aka Metal Head- It has to be a requirement that each gym have at least 10 to 15 of these guys....and they are all best buds because whenever one leaves chest bumbs and fist pounds will fly. But down to the description if its even needed.....sleevless t or tank top with some sort of body building/supplement company logo......at least 1 of the following tattoos arm band, tribal, dragon, eagle, demon or skeleton and my favorite flames....moving on......they will never be seen in shorts no no its either sweats, warm ups, or jeans. Because truth be told they are shaped like an upside down weeble and they need the pants to hide the dispaportionetly small legs....He will also be wearing either a hat, or bandana god forbid you dont show your style at the gym. They will also be carrying around a suitcase/gym bag that will house there numerous supplements and other absolute must haves at the gym. If they are working out solo believe they will have the ipod in and with some mid 90's death metal at such a volume that the old deaf lady on the eliptical can hear. The only thing louder then Steriod Guy's music is his grunt and yells as he maxes out at weights that would make Arnold proud.

3-The Way To Comfortable With Her Body Lady-Not much to talk about here pretty simple really everyone gets it lady you might have been hot 20 or 30 yrs ago.....make that 50 or 60 lbs ago.....but its time to put away the sports bra and booty shorts and bring out a modest t shirt and shorts/work out pants.....I applaud your efforts to try and hold on to your youth and sex appeal but time catches up to us all and I think its comin around for lap number 2 on you so please do us all a favor and put away the gut and cottage cheese thighs.

4-The Social Butterflies-This group of gym goers can be either male or female though I find that usually they are male....and they dont have a distinct style or anything.....but simply they think that the gym is a place to go and chat it up......which is fine cus to be honest it is I have met alot of really cool people while working out.....but my god do you have to chat it up for 5 min between each set while people are waiting to use your machine......or do you have to take up an entire section of the gym with your little group that I need to weeve threw you like maze. Shut up do your work out and chat on your walk to the next exercise or back in your car....this is isnt gossip hr and I dont care who won on American Idol last night.

-Sub Type-Fashion Show Guy- Not all that different from the social butterfly in the fact that they are there to be seen not so much to work out......and for this reason they are dressed to a T.....wearing either full work out outfits from their favorite sports brand or brand new name brand shirts.......my favorite part about this type is that they gel their hair before coming to the gym....are you kidding do you not plan on working hard enough to sweat????? If they have not put gel in then they are most likely rocking either a Ed Hardy hat or White baseball camp on backwards of course. And bet your ass that Fashion show guy will not be wearing some no name shoe its either gonna be Diesel or some fresh white Nikes.....nothing but the best for him during his workout.

5-The Distraction- My favorite type of gym goer......she is the girl who wears as little and as tight as clothing as possible....because she has put in countless hrs to help mold her genetic/surgical gifts.....I have no problems with you little Miss Distraction.....but I have to admit you make it hard to stay focused while im trying to run on the treadmill......all I ask is if I happen to fall and need CPR will you please be the one to perform it and not OLD SCHOOL GUY.
Keep up the hard work because I for one am noticing and proud of all the hard work you and your doctor have put in.

Rain Maker of the Month

Being March Madness I am trying to keep it College Hoops related and this was not a hard choice at all........Blake Griffin.....dude may not be very outspoken, but he is a freak of nature and gets the job done every night despite being the main focus every time he steps on the court.....what sealed it for me was him hitting his head on the backboard!!! Are you serious dudes that are 6'10 should not be able to jump like that.

Draught Causer of the Month....

Well its been a rough month to say the least......from Wake Forest going down in the first round (I had them i the Final Four) to someother stuff I would rather not discuss......nevertheless the Blog Must Go On!!! And so without further waiting I give you the Drought Causer of the Month....Tony Bennett.....yes a late entry but let me state my case for giving it to him. I usually do not mind coaches leaving programs to try and go onto bigger and better things and lets be honest leaving Pullman for almost anywhere is a good move.....however I have two very big problems with this move....#1 have some fucking loyalty Wazzu gave you a shot in a big time confrence when no other school at that level would have, it took you piggy backing daddy to get you that job so be a little more greatful you werea young and unexperienced when you got that job and sure you did a great job leading that nothing program to the top 10 and a couple of tourny apperances and this past yr you did a good leading a extremely young team to a respectful finish in confrence even though the Pac 10 was horrendous this season and if you had this team last you would have been lucky to win a game.
#2 You leave Pullman where you are treated like a god for Virgina ????? Why in gods name would you do that you go from being the big man on campus all be it in the smallest pond in the confrence to being a nobody in a confrence full of Big Fish....how are you going to recruit against Roy Williams, Coach K, Gary Williams, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Florida St, Miami, Boston College, Clemson, Va Tech, all of which are way ahead of you in terms of talent and rescent success. Good luck trying to build a program that hasnt had sustaind success since Ralph Sampson.........You had a good thing going in the Palouse Tony and I think you just flushed it down the toilet....take a took at what just happened to Billy Gillispie because that my friend is your future.

Maybe you'll actually show some class and wear a Tie at your next stop ...I doubt it

Awww the start of March.....

Well its been a little bit since I have posted anything so I figured I would give the people what they want....So I gotta little rant to go off on so sit back and enjoy-

K so lately a few buddies of mine have been expressing how they think its shameful how players leave their orginal franchise in search of a ring....

#1 who the f are you to decide whats right for their career....maybe they never wanted to play in your city or for your team in the first place and you have the balls to say something after they have given you yrs of effort and commitment not to mention enjoyment when you gave them nothing but I guess you being a fan big fucking deal in my opinion.

#2 why would a player such as Kevin Garnett or Ray Allen (the players they called out) stay with their teams when its clear they arent gonna compete with their current roster?????? It's not like they have 8 yrs to grow with the young roster management has brought in.....also if they stay and demand the dollars they deserve then they are actually doing their team a disservice but taking up so much of the cap which would not allow the team to resign the young players as their rookie contracts come up.

#3 Its not like either one of those guys laid eggs down the stretch of their yrs with their former teams......NOO they didnt I could see if they pulled a Vince Carter in Tornoto or Man Ram in Boston but they didnt.....Kevin Garnett is one of the hardest working and intense players in the history of the NBA reguardless if his team is 30 games over or under .500 and Ray Allen is one of the most professional and stand up guys in the league. So shut up BLAZER HONKs they did nothing but go out and play hard for their teams and neither one demanded a trade they simply didnt want to waste away on team and collect a check...they want to win....you should hope the young Blazers grow into such type players.

#4 Yes there is more......LOOOK IN THE FUCKING MIRROR!!!! Ever hear of a guy named Clyed Drexler......yes the face of your beloved team bolted faster then shit threw a goose once he saw that the window was closing on the Blazers and that he could team up with The Dream and his championship caliber teammates in Houston. I in know way think what Clyde did is bad because he did nothing but play hard for Portland and establish them as a premier team in the early 90's but I do have a problem with fools talking bad about players leavign their teams when it has happened in their backyard without a peep being said.

In closing I do find it pretty shameful when guys lay down and demand trades......your being paid show respect to the game and play hard until the season is over or you get traded dont hamstring your team. But when guys do nothing but play hard and all they want to do is win I dont have a problem with trying to go play for a winner before their prime yrs are over.

NBA Prospect Ranker

First off this is not a mock draft because there is no way to determine what team will have what pick considering the NBA has a lottery and also the fact that the season is still going on....this is simply my ranking of 10 players that are eligible to enter the NBA next season. I will try to give strengths and weaknesses to each player and compare them to either a current or past NBA player.

1. Blake Griffin (Soph. PF Oklahoma) This is not even a question.....dude is a absolute freak has great size and athleticism. I picture him being the second coming of Shawn Kemp (pre-weight gain/bastard children), some of his dunks just make me shake my head. If he can develop a solid mid ranger jumper he will be a multiple time all-star (he might be one without a jumper.....Amare or D-Howard ???)

2. Hasheem Thabeet (Jr, C UCONN) You simply cannot teach 7'3 with his athletic ability, he is not the typical 7 foot stiff, he can actually play and move very well for his size. He may not have offensive skills but he is still new to the game has only played for about 5 yrs give him time and a good coaching staff and he could be the next Mt. Mutumbo.

3. James Harden (Soph. G Arizona St.) Full grown man....dude is thick is not afraid to go hard to the rim and has the body to take hits and finish. But what sets him apart from most of slashers is he can create for his teammates and doesnt take bad shots like alot of star players do which is evident by his high field goal percentage even when being guarded every night by the other teams best defender. He doenst look like the typical NBA athlete cus he isnt cut but neither does Paul Pierce and he has done alright for him self, Harden's smoothness to his game his game might be his biggest strength because he never appears to be outta control or forcing. One thing he can work on is his overall athleticism but that will improve with better conditioning.

4. Al-Farouq Aminu (Fr. F Wake Forest) Long, Lean, and Versatile.......I usually like to be cautious of guys like him (cus they can end up being like Tyrus Thomas) but Aminu seems to be alot more skilled then the typical 6'9 pogo stick, and has shown the desire to actually play defense and rebound instead of going simply for the big block or dunk. Obviously the thing he can work on is his strenght but as he matures and grows into his body that will change. I think at his best he can be a better version of Tayshaun Prince or Tracy McGrady (if he continues to improve his stroke) at his worst though he could be a Jonathan Bender or Tyrus Thomas.

5. Jeff Teague (Soph. PG Wake Forest) I may be getting a little carried away here but I love his game, dude can jump outta the gym has an NBA body already and will bulk up more with his maturation he has a great frame. His jumper is not great but it's light yr's ahead of Russel Westbrooks who was takin at 5 last yr......is a similar athlete to Westbrook, better ball handler, and just a more natural PG. His one glaring weakness is his lack of effort on defense and can be posted up by bigger guards but his strengths outway those weaknesses. I see him as slightly smaller Russel Westbrook with better ball skills but less defense.

6. Greg Monroe (Fr. PF Georgetown) Like any other guy who has been highly recruited and rated since Junior High his desire and motor have been questioned......but those questions have gone away for the most part since coming to Georgetown.....I dont blame him it has to be hard to get up to play every night knowing that your 50% effort is enough to drop 30 and 15. Just remember that Rudy Gays desire was his biggest question mark coming into the league and now he is one of the most skilled young wing players in the league. He is not a great athlete but is quick and explosive enough to play at the next level I see him as a poor mans Chris Webber without his athletcism as a youngster.

7. Earl Clark (Jr. F Louisville) Your protypical wiry athletic forward......except that he has the ability to make great passes and stroke from the outside.......I have read comparisions to Danny Granger now I wouldnt go that far I picture more of an athletic Luke Walton but still the skill set is there and if he can put it all together he can be a very good starter in the league.

8. Chase Budinger (Jr. G/F Arizona) It seems like every yr his name is one of the most talked about......does he have the toughness and desire to play in the NBA and every yr he does things physically and shows the skills that make you say who cares this guy is a special talent. Although it is true that he can disappear in games and that goes with pretty much the whole Zona roster the past couple yrs. I think that if he can find the right home he can be a very good player in the league, just dont expect him to carry a team thats just not his style, he is a Bobby Sura or Jr. Smith type with good skills and a good athlete just something upstairs isnt there.

9. Patrick Patterson (Soph. PF Kentucky) A little undersized but overcomes that with his athleticism and hustle. He has a mans body and will continue to fill out into his big frame, is not afraid to go in and bang and has shown the ability to score inside but needs to develop a outside game if he wants to flourish at the next level due to his lack of height. Picture a more skilled Ben Wallace or a more athletic Leon Powe.

10. Brandon Jennings (Italy. PG) No guy has dropped further in my mind then this guy.....I have looked at his stats and some game video over in Italy and I am just not all that impressed......I admire his decision to do what he did what with the NBA screwing him over....but he just doesnt posses the jumper or body type to be all that effective in the league (not yet atleast) I do love his passing skills and quickness but if you remember Sebastain Telfair could really pass too and we have all seen what happened to him. I dont expect much more then a Telfair like impact....unless I am simply missing something.

ps. the reason I dont have Ricky Rabio on this list is because his buyout is so huge that he wont be coming out tell next yr.....its a Rudy Fernadez situation.

Whoever is lucky enough to get the #1 pick better take Griffin he is a Young Reign Man!

NFL Mock Draft

So now that the Super Bowl is over with and everyone is waiting for the combine to fill the void between now and the NFL Draft I figured now is as good as time as any to do my very first NFL Mock Draft soooo here it goes I'll be doing Rd.1 only because after that it's a crap shoot anyway with trades and all that other stuff that goes down on draft day.....here it goes......with the first pick.......

1.Detroit- Andre Smith(Bama)- Clearly the Lions have a lot of holes on both sides of the ball so trading down to get some more picks makes a lot of sense but for sake of this Blog lets say they make this pick.....Smith is a monster and although he is not on Jake Longs level they can copy the Dolphins plan and start at the O-Line.

2.St. Louis-Eugene Monroe(Virginia)-Another team with a lot of holes and I could see them going Defense with this pick....but with Orlando Pace getting old and proving that he cant stay healthy going O-Line will help provide time for Bulger to get the ball to their weapons.

3.Kansas City-Matt Stafford(Georgia)- This team needs a QB desperately and Matt Stafford is the cream of the QB crop in this draft which I dont believe is that strong of a QB class with Bradford and McCoy choosing to stay in school. But Stafford can play and his arm is as strong as they come....his #'s would have been better if not for all the loses Georgia had on both sides of the ball this season.

4.Seattle-Michael Crabtree(Texas Tech)- Without question the easiest pick to predict Seattle has for a few yrs now needed a go to reciever and they get one in Crabtree he is a big reciever who can make big plays I expect a solid Rookie campaign out of him.

5.Cleveland-Aaron Curry(Wake)- Ok I have to admit the Browns left me eating alot of crow this season has I had them being a playoff team well that certainly didnt happen.....but they can make a huge step to get there with Curry who is a great young LB im thinking Patrick Willis type #'s.

6.Cincinati-Michael Oher(Ole Miss)- It's about time that the Bengals address the fact that they need to protect Carson Palmer and with this being an extremely deep draft for OTs Oher makes perfect sense.

7.Oakland-Jason Smith (Baylor)- I dont think that the Raiders are as far away as most other people think.....they have a lot of young talent on defense with only a couple holes to fill....and they have some weapons on their Offense so I look for them to sure up their line and protect their young QB who by the way is the size of most of their lineman.

8.Jacksonville- Brian Orakpo (Texas)- Their defense just wasnt the same this yr and its clear that the once D line is getting old so going with Orakpo will change that in a hurry he is a freak athlete who can dominate a game with his pash rush.

9.Green Bay- Malcom Jenkins (Ohio St.)- The Packers offense proved last yr that they can put up points.....now if only they could stop people from doing the same....if Orakpo is on the board then they will for sure take him....but with him off the board I look for them to take Jenkins to sure up their secondary which is begining to show signs of age....they could also look to take B.J. Raji from Boston College and sure up the D-line and allow their LBs to flow and get Kampman one on one oppurtunities.

10. San Fransico- Mark Sanchez (USC)- The Niners have good pieces on both sides they just need a couple peices before they can compete to win their confrence which is very weak.....and I think they get Sanchez keep him in state and develop him for a yr under Hill who was serviceable last yr.

11. Buffalo- James Laurinatis (Ohio St.)- As much as it hurts me to have two Ohio St. guys this high and another one soon to come.....With Chase Coffman staying in school the Bills will have to address their need for TE later and go with another one of their needs and that is on D where Laurinatis can help Polz sure up a young Defense.

12. Denver- B.J. Raji (BC)- Obviously the Broncos have a good offense but just the same their defense is terrible and Raji will help instanstly...he is a monster who will eat up blockers and allow the LBs behind him to make plays.

13. Washington- Rey Maualuga (USC)- The Redskins are another team that is not far away.....and if they get Rey they will be even closer as he can make plays all over the field stoppinig the run and defending the pass.

14. New Orleans- William Moore (Missouri)- Saints fans have to be pissed that Taylor Mays stayed in school he would have been perfect for them.....but with him staying down in So Cal with the coeds they will have to take the next best safety in William Moore.

15. Houston- Duke Robinson (Oklahoma)- Another average season for the Texans they need to protect the QB because they can fill up the score board and their D is getting better.....so going with Big Duke is a easy call he is a Mt. of a Man and can still move pretty well.

16. San Diego- Beenie Wells (Ohio St.)- Lt is not getting any younger and Sproles is not a every down back despite what he did in that playoff game may have you thinking.....and with not any glaring holes taking Wells here is a great value pick.

17. New York Jets- Josh Freeman (Kansas St.)- With Favre finally retiring (thank god) the Jets have to pick up the pieces from that mess and although Freeman wont be ready this yr they can live with Clemens for a yr and he might grow into a NFL starter if not they can allow Freeman to learn the game for a yr.

18. Chicago- Jeremy Maclin (Missouri)-Every yr its the same thing with the Bears a good defense but no explosion on Offense well Maclin can provide a spark to that boring Offense.....now just just see if they have a QB who can get him the ball.

19. Tampa Bay- Knowshon Moreno (Georgia)- With Freeman off the board they will look to their other hole which with the injuries to Cadillac (knee again) and Earnest Grahm proving to be a fluke is at RB. Their D is getting old but still played well besides down the stretch.....they will have to address that later in the draft too along with QB issues.

20. Detriot- Peria Jerry (Ole Miss)- Although I could see the Lions making a push for Haynesworth along with just about every other team in the league.....I dont think he will want to go to this doormat....so taking Jerry will help their pathetic D-Line.

21. Philly- Brandon Pettigrew (Ok. St.)- They might make a run at Tony Gonzalez but if they cant get him look for them to go TE with no other big time safeties in this draft it makes sense for them to give McNabb a weapon to use as he has shown when he has them he can be great.

22. Minnesota- Vontae Davis (Illinois)- If Freeman is still on the board look for them to make that move but with him out of the picture they will add to that Defense that is great against the run but against the pass not so much.

23. New England- Percy Harvin (Florida)- Loaded team and although they are old at LB I dont think they will address that this early.....instead they will give either Brady or Cassell another weapon to pick apart defenses with.

24. ATL- Brian Cushing (USC)- What a yr it was for Matty Ice and the rest of the Falcons......adding Cushing will help the D catch up to O which looked damn good last yr.

25. Miami- Clay Mathews (USC)- Back to back USC backers go to two of last yr's biggest suprises and with all the success outside linebackers have had as blitzers lately in the league I loo for Miami to land Mathews and use him as a stand up DE much like Ware and Merriman.

26. Baltimore- D.J. Moore (Vandy)- The first Vandy player to leave early will be rewarded by going in the first round and to one of the best defenses in the league where he will help a aging secondary. Also look for them to take a look at LB with Ray, Bart, and Terrell all being free agents.

27. Indy- Clint Sintim (Virginia)- Did anyone elses neck get sore from watching Darren Sproles run all over the Colts in the playoffs.....well I look for them to address their soft defense with this pick.

28. Philly- Desean McCoy (Pitt-RB)- They have to adderss the fact that despite being one of the leagues most dangerous players Brian Westbrook just cant stay healthy for a whole yr so adding McCoy will add depth to the position.

29. New York Giants- Hakeem Nicks(WR-North Carolina)- If indeed Plax is not welcome back they will go for Nicks who is a big WR with great hands..... they are a very good team so they will simply be adding depth whoever they take.

30. Tennesee- Darius Heyward-Bey (Maryland-WR)- It was obvious in the postseason that their lack of explosion on offense cost them and with not very many good WRs in this draft they will have to hope that Heyward-Bey can make an impact.

31. Arizona- Everett Brown (FSU-DE)- Sure their D played good in the postseason but does anyone expect that again.......NO!! So getting Brown this late in the draft is a steal.

32. Pitt- Max Unger (Oregon-OL)- A versatile O-Lineman that can play many positions will help keep Big Ben off his back as long as he realizes that he can throw the ball before he gets hit (I think he thinks there is a rule against this).

So there it is my very first NFL mock draft and I have to say I am very sad that I couldnt sneak a Michigan player in there somewhere but hey when you go 3 and alot of losses its hard to get a first round pick.

All Facial Hair Team

I have to admit I am a big fan of manly beard or mustache......I myself cannot grow more then a few patches of facial hair so when an athlete rocks on the court/field I respect the shit out of it......there have been some great beards and staches over the years but I am gonna go with a current facial hair all star team....I hope you enjoy and as always mustache rides are free for the ladies.....

Adam Morrison-Every one knows that his facial hair is pathetic but dude does not care and that's what I love about it.....you can count the number of hairs on his upper lip be he continues to rock the stache well after the initial hype started a few yrs back in college.

Baron Davis- We go from a pre-pubescent stache to a man's beard......Baron has one hell of a beard its a damn shame that he spends more time on the bench due to injuries then on the court cus that beard causes envy.

Jason Giambi- He may not still be rockin the porn stache but when he was I could have cared less whether he did steriods or plays for one of my least favorite teams in all of sports I would watch his at bats just to catch a glimpse of that beauty.

Yao Ming- This picture doesnt really do Yao's 23 facial hairs credit.....and yes I counted them just the other day in fact....and they are gettin to be pretty long. I think he shaves every time he gets injured so they should be comin off any day now.

Rasheed Wallace- Sheed gets on this list simply because he is the fucking man.....probably the coolest cat in the whole NBA, that combined with a mans beard, and the biggest gaps ever in his teeth. BALL DON'T LIE!!!!

Brian Scalabrine- Just had to put Big Scal on the list any Ranga (Orangatang aka Ginger aka Red Head) that is willing to rock a rust belt (aka red beard) defenitely deserves props and he does so with confidence.

NBA Power Rankings and Mid Season Awards

So its has been awhile since I have done a Power Rankings and with the All Star Break coming up I cant think of a better time, also I will be doing my mid season awards I will give out an MVP, ROY, Defensive MVP, 6th Man, Most Improved, and a Out of Nowhere award which will go to a guy who has busted on to the scene out of No Where........

last ranking will be in parenthesis....

1. Celtics 40-9 (1)- Best record in the NBA despite that two week stretch when they lost 7 out of 9, however order has been restored and realed off another 11 straight wins....the latest without KG who was out with the flu, but P Dub stepped up big with 36,6, and 8.

2. Orlando 36-10 (4)- Had a rough loss to Boston but bounced back in a big way against Cleveland and managed to do something very few teams have managed to do make Lebron look human.

3. Cleveland 36-9 (3)- Before you freak out and think I have a east bias.....relax I know the Lakers beat them and forced Lebron into a bad game.....but they still have yet to lose a game at home and Lebron will not play that bad very often.

4. Lakers 37-9 (2)- They have been playing well and have bigs win over the Spurs and the Cavs.....but they just had one big loss yeah Bynum going down will hurt even if he comes back to 100% losing him for a few weeks will hurt.

5. Spurs 33-14 (11)-Rising faster then any other team in the poll and the second hottest team in the league behind the Celtics.....and fuck it I still hate them with a passion.

6. Denver 31-16 (8)-Managed to maintain their hold on the Nortwest Divion lead while Melo was out and he just came back with a big game.....if they can keep that div lead they should make some noise in the playoffs. I still cant get over the Billups trade!!

7. New Orleans 28-16 (5)-Tyson Chandler has been dealing with some injuries and he is their only real inside presence because David West would rather stand out and shoot jumpers which continue to fall as he is an all star once again......oh and they still have CP3 who makes them very scary.

8. Houston 29-19 (6)-I know I am gonna get a lot of grief for putting them above the Blazers but they continue to play well despite dealing with so many injuries.

9. Portland 29-17 (7)-Nothing they have done has caused them to drop I still think they will make the playoffs and have any team they face very afried. Roy is playing extremely well and with Oden starting to play well as long as he can stay out of foul trouble no team in the NBA has a brighter future.

10. Utah 26-22 (9)-Ok so they have yet to get healthy but they still are in the playoff race which has to say something about their coaching which has had to patch together piececs while AK-47, Boozer, and Deron Williams have all missed a lot of games.

11. Dallas 27-19 (14)-Dirk is still playing at his usual level and they're right in the thick of the playoff race but they better stay out of the 8 spot if they want to make any noise.

12. Phoenix 25-20 (10)-Have looked really bad at times over the past couple weeks I just dont think you can have guys who take games off in the NBA this isnt the MLB where they only need to play every 4 days.

13. ATL 27-20 (12)-I really like this team with all their young talent.....but it is still a huge drop from the top 3 in the east to them.

14. Pistons 25-20 (13)-Bringing Rip off the bench helps add some scoring punch to that unit however it takes alot from the starting 5.....it's official the AI trade will not help them this yr.

15. Philly 23-23 (19)-I hate to say I told you but.......I told you so Elton Brand going down helped this team by allowing them to get back to what they do best .....running the floor and using their athleticism. Now if Elton can fit in with the rest of the team.

16. Miami 25-21 (15)-Gotta give it up to D Wade he is taking a team full of avg players and has them firmly in the playoffs which is impressive even if they are at the bottom of the east.

17. New York 21-25 (21)-I still really like the way D'Antonio is doing.....reguardless of how much I want to punch Nate Robinson in the face.......keep gettin #s Al Harrington!

18. New Jersey 21-27 (16)-Have not been able to maintain their hot start and have fallin off since their 13-13 start. I still really like what their future holds with Harris, Lopez, and Ryan Anderson.

19. Bucks 24-27 (18)-Losing Redd hurts their playoffs chances but lets be honest they werent gonna do much even if they made it with him and that remains true without him.

20. Chicago 21-27 (17)-Another frustrating yr for Bulls fans......something is missing clearly it wasnt Scott Skiles fault.

21. Raptors 19-30 (20)-Well the Jermaine O'Neal experiment has not worked....and Canadain fans can start to get ready to say goodbye to Bosh once 2010 rolls around.

22. Bobcats 19-28 (24)-Losing Gerald Wallace really hurts whatever playoff chances they may have had.....but even more it hurts my fantasy team....Damn you Andruw Bynum what goes around comes around mother fucker.

23. Pacers 19-29 (23)-It's official my man crush on Danny Granger is at an all time high.....but the rest of their team sucks including the slew of over paid white guys they have.

24. T-Wolves 16-30 (28)-Started off 2009 on fire, have cooled a little lately but still gave the Lakers a run last night and the Celtics today (KG didnt play just to clear things up).

25. Golden St. 15-33 (25) A bunch of young gunners who are fun to watch but dont win many games.

26. Memphis 11-35 (22) Just like the rest of the teams as the bottom of this list their season is all but over.....yet I still really like their young nucleus.

27. Thunder 11-36 (29) Kevin Durant and Jeff Green made the rook/soph game not what I would want as my teams season highlight. I guess it gives them hope for the future though.

28-30. Clippers/Kings/Wizards- Of these three at least the Kings are young the Clippers and Wizards not so much but they are clearly the worst three teams in the league. Maybe the Clippers can get a few wins if they get some players back.

Mid Season Awards-

So here are my mid season award winners along with other guys who could contend for the award.

MVP-Lebron James- Can do it all and his team contending for the #1 spot in both the East and the entire league. Which is so important because whoever gets that spot will avoid playing the other top seed tell the Eastern finals.

still in contention- Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Dwayne Wade

ROY-Derrick Rose- So fast so explosive and looks poised for a great career.

still in contention- OJ Mayo, Brook Lopez, Rudy Fernandez

D-MVP- Dwight Howard- Is anyone in the league more intimidating????? NO he leads the league in blocks and rebounds and will continue that for years to come.

still in contention- Well I dont think anyone will challenge Dwight I guess KG has a chance.

6th Man- Even though I hate this award because most of the guys who get consideration play more then the guys who start ahead of them. I will give it up to Jason Terry he has been playing really well this yr.

still in contention- In protest of this award I refuse to put Manu the flopper in consideration......instead I will put a true 6th man Rudy Fernandez.

Most Improved- Danny Granger/Devin Harris- This is a two man race and even though I have been saying it for a couple years now these guys are going to be great and already playing very well.

still in contention-No one.

Out of No Where- Roger Mason-ok I know he has been in the league for awhile but not one person can tell me they saw this coming.

still in contention- Wilson Chandler, Von Wafer, Anthony Morrow
