First Ever NBA Power Ranking

1. Celtics (25-2)- Can win the close games and blow teams out, clearly the class of the NBA will be there at the end of season.

2. Lakers (21-5)- Back to back loses hurt slightly but how often will Kobe miss game tying shots on back to back nights....not often so its not time to panic just yet.

3. Cavs (22-4)- Whats better news for Cleveland fans the fact that they are off to the best start in franchise history or the fact that Lebron might resign early.....I have to say the latter.

4. Magic (21-6)- Big wins over Portland and the Lakers in the past week have to mean something despite the fact they required a lucky shot from Hedo and a unlikely miss from Kobe.

5. Hornets (16-7)- Chris Paul is playing like an MVP and the slow start has given way and they are right back in the race for the best record in the west.

6. Rockets (18-9)- If Yao, McGrady, and Ron Artest can stay healthy they will be just fine and contend for the west title however that is a very big IF.

7. Blazers (17-10)- 3 straight loses after playing so well threw those first 24 games hurt, losing to the Clippers hurt even more.....but seeing B Roy dominate like one of the top 5 players in the game made all that disappear.

8. Nuggets (17-10)- Have hit their first bump in the road since Billups came to town, and I have to wonder if Nene is enough to compliment Melo, Smith and Billups on the outside. I think he might but then again he might not.

9. Utah (17-12)- Starting to get healthy.......kinda.....but if Boozer does ever come back they will once again be a legit title contender and that dominating desplay against the Blazers without the Booze was very impressive.

10. Suns (16-11)- The Jason Richardson trade made them very scary....I was never a Diaw fan, but losing Raja Bell will hurt and until they finally decide on an identity I have a hard time seeing them making it back to a few yrs ago.

11. Spurs (16-10)- Old, boring, and god damnit effective.......they're few teams in the NBA that I hate more but I can't deny that they get the job done.

12. Hawks (16-10)- Young, exciting, and yet still need to learn how to win close games....I dont think it will take to long though and teams shouldn't count on Joe Johnson missing free throws.

13. Pistons (14-10)- I really didnt like the AI trade but they still have enough to get out of the first round of the playoffs but thats about it.

14. Mavs (14-11)- Would be the 6 seed in the east right now but in the west they are on the outside looking in......but it doesn't matter anyway they getting worse not better with every season.

15. Heat (14-12)- D Wade makes me happy every night that I took him in my fantasy league but beyond that I dont see to much going on in Miami.

16. Nets (13-13)- I love Devon Harris and I think they have a good future with him and Lopez as well as a few other young guys like Ryan Anderson and Yi would could grow into solid role players......but its not their time yet.

17. Bulls (13-14)- I just cant decide on them.....I love Derrick Rose and Luol Deng yet I hate Noah and Tyrus Thomas....either way they are either gonna be a sacrificial lamb to the Celtics or miss the playoffs.

18. Bucks (13-16)- I like the Redd and Jefferson combo....and Bogut is a functional center in the NBA but beyond that there isn't much to like on this team......gotta admit I like seeing Rid get some minutes and #'s.

19. Sixers (12-15)- Ok its official the Elton Brand move has not worked and with him going down maybe they can get back to playing how they did last yr and looked like a young up and coming team.......if not its another trip back to the lottery.

20. Raptors (10-17)- I have to believe that Bosh, O'Neal, and Calderon is enough to get into the playoffs despite the fact that they have almost no bench.

21. Knicks (11-15)- I love what D'Antonio is doing....they just dont have the players.....yet.

22. Memphis (9-17)- Have been playiny pretty well lately...... and I love the young nucleus they have down there in Gay, Mayo, Arthur, and Gasol......give them a few yrs and they could be good.

23. Pacers (10-17)- No matter how good Danny Granger is it doesn't matter because the rest of that team is not the answer.

24. Charlotte (9-19)- I really like the moves they are making because Jason Richardson isn't the kinda guy you can build a team around.....slowly but surely they can build around Augustine, Emeka, and Wallace.

25. Warriors (8-20)- A lot of young talent which means a few things they score alot......dont play any defense and lose close games.

26. Clippers (8-19)-All that talent on both sides.......but something is missing.

27. Kings (7-21)- A couple good young pieces but not much else.....and the fact that Kevin Martin cant stay healthy has already cost Reggie Theus his job.

28. T-Wolves (4-22)- Al Jefferson is nice....Kevin Love will become a 15 and 9 guy but beyond that they have a long way to go.

29. Thunder (3-24)- Big win the other night.....big in the sense that they are so few and far between this yr and will continue to be the rest of the yr.

30. Wizards (4-20)- They aren't young so the future isn't bright....and if Jamison and Butler cant get them wins now and Arenas can never get healthy the present looks very bad.
